These pieces are a response to a yellowed and crumbling woman's piña camisa and a man's camisa de chino that I found in Manila. It is a hope to recreate the experience I had in unfolding the original - like excavating memories that revealed an overwhelming fragility in its inevitable disintegration. Traced and recreated from the actual patterns, the rebuilt garments comment on the state of the Philippine diaspora as intact but fragmented, decentered, and networked in multiple localities.
